Exactly what will and will not be allowed in terms of data transfers between European Union (EU) member states and the UK post Brexit has become a real concern for organizations on both sides of the Channel, as well as those doing business with Europe and the UK from afar. Organizations were already preparing to implement the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will come into effect on May 25, 2018. In the UK, they have also relied heavily upon the EU-US Privacy Shield, which only recently replaced Safe Harbour, and will no longer be valid for UK companies post Brexit.
